Lets put it this way that I shop 90% of baby products online. Clearly my twins could not have come into this world at a better time because this decade has seen a splendid growth in e-commerce in India and it makes my life so much easier. It’s a blessing for sleep deprived, overworked, exhausted parents because no one wants to sit in their car and become a contributor to the insane metropolitan city traffic just to go get some diapers. I am sure everyone will agree to this. Here is my list of websites, which contributed to my first year of motherhood and still continues to save me from becoming partially insane.
This one goes without saying. CHEAPEST DIAPERS & WIPES ONLINE. And not to mention thousands of products and choices, great delivery and easy returns. Even though they don’t specialize in baby products they still manage to have a wide range of very good baby products and clothes. Good job Amazon.in. Keep it up!
Firstcry is the pioneer in baby online shopping in India. The website is user-friendly with many options and a wide range of products in every category. It’s probably the first website that comes to your mind when you are shopping online for your child. Good service and cute slogan “Bacho ki shopping bacho ka khel nahi” Nailed it!
Babyoye has grown its presence immensely over a year. They too have a wide range of products to cater to our baby needs. Timely deliveries, easy returns, user-friendly website. They often have great sales and very reasonable prices. The only hitch is that they send you too many emails, so I find myself unsubscribing often.
Lilsta is a new one on my list, I have not shopped anything from them yet but I am looking forward to doing so. It’s an eye-pleasing website, user-friendly and has interesting baby merchandise. But the feature that caught my attention was the Baby registry tab. Clearly no one else has thought about that in India yet. It is extremely useful for new parents! I hope I would see it being used as it can really change the way parents shop for the arrival of their little one.
Hopscotch is another baby e-commerce website but with a twist! They work on a limited time boutique system where the products will be available from a brand for a limited period of time ranging from 4 to 5 days. They make up a unique selling point by keeping merchandise from all over the world at very considerable prices too. So it’s like a one of a kind shop where you might find something you love and won’t find it anywhere else online. The only downside is if you need something specific you might not get it at that time and it takes longer to deliver the product since we have to pre-order some products. Best for browsing in your free time!
That pretty much sums up my shopping experience when it comes to buying anything for the girls. Cuddled on my couch with some hot chocolate, soaking up all the cuteness on the screen while the girls nap.
Thank you e- commerce startups in India you just made parenthood a little bit easier!
